A science experiment on Channel 10's morning program Studio 10 has nearly turned disastrous.

Channel 10 mainstay Natarsha Belling nearly had her head taken off as an experiment involving Coke bottle rockets went awry.

Belling and guest co-host Roxy Jacenko were helping YouTube science star Jacob Strickling perform an experiment on the show that sent Coke bottles flying into the air like mini rockets, thanks to a combination of the soft drink mixing with liquid nitrogen.

After Strickling has performed two successful experiments, he invited Belling to send the third and final rocket into the sky, only for the Channel 10 host to take a little to long to let go of the rocket, sending it horrifyingly close to her head.

The rocket thankfully missed Belling, but it ended up taking out a tree branch on the way through, highlighting the ferocity of which the Coke rocket was flying.

The incident reportedly left Belling partially deaf in one on of her ears for a short time.
