Brooklyn Nine-Nine

If there's one thing that Fox's cancellation of Brooklyn Nine-Nine taught us, it's that there are a lot more fans out there than everyone - including Fox - thought.

But after a 24-hour rollercoaster of bids by other networks, a refusal from Netflix and a subsequent last-minute reprieve by NBC, the cop comedy was back on track for delivering a clearly badly wanted sixth season.

And that new season is actually coming sooner than we could have imagined; NBC has confirmed that the premiere will air in the US on January 10.

It's expected that the episodes will be fast-tracked to Australia through SBS Viceland the following day.

Drip-fed information has also so far told us that the sixth season will be 18 episodes long with one solely focussed on Hitchcock and Scully's shenanigans.

There'll also, thankfully, be an episode featuring the Pontiac Bandit because everyone knows they're the second-best episodes in each season (the Halloween ones win every time, don't argue with us).
