We’re less than a week away from Star Wars: The Last Jedi but Mark Hamill may have just dropped a massive hint about the fate of his beloved character.
In an Australian radio exclusive, the actor chatted to us at the Tokyo premiere of the long-awaited movie and spoke about what surprised him most about stepping back into Luke Skywalker’s shoes.
“[Luke’s] the most optimistic character, the most hopeful character but I think [director Rian Johnson’s] challenge is to deliver a Star Wars movie with all the things we love – the action, the adventure, the romance, the humour – but to push the envelope and do something that is unexpected,” he said.
“Making Luke that down and distressed… this is not going to go the way you think.”
Hamill added: “[Rian] pushed me out of my comfort zone, but maybe that’s a good thing.”
Whether or not that means it’ll be Hamill’s last appearance as Luke Skywalker remains to be seen but, luckily, we only have to wait until December 14 to find out.
