Breaking Bad

Close to five years after the final episode of Breaking Bad aired, Jesse Pinkman himself has renewed hope that he's coming back to our screens.

Aaron Paul, who played Pinkman in the award-winning series, posted an Instagram shot that has sent commenters into a bloody tailspin.

Captioned "Good morning old friend", Paul's selfie was taken outside the AMC Network building in the US.

Understandably, fans are now losing it over the thought that Paul could be reprising his role in Breaking Bad or, more likely, in the Better Call Saul spin-off.

While we'd probably have heard if the former was coming back, it's not too much of a stretch for Jesse Pinkman to pop up in the latter, which follows Walter White's dodgy lawyer Saul Goodman.

Paul himself has always said he'd be keen to slip into Pinkman's yellow Hazmat suit again, telling Variety in 2016 that "hopefully" he'd be involved in some way.

"I don't know when that may be," he said. "I'm not going to say anything more. But I'm absolutely open to the idea.

"Hopefully it happens. I'm all about it.

"If I were to be involved, I can promise that it would be done in the most beautiful way. Because there's no way they're going to bring Jesse Pinkman back just to bring him back."

And Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan isn't adverse to the idea, either, saying: "You never know if that character may get revisited in the future.

"Anything's possible."
