*Before you read on, this article may contain spoilers for the current season of Game of Thrones, so if you read on, don't piss and moan that we gave stuff away you didn't want to know, OK?*

Blink and you may have missed it , but former Water Rats, Love Your Way and The Slap actor Brendan Cowell made an appearance in yesterday's Game of Thrones episode.

Cowell played the character of Harrag, an Ironborn man who plucked Theon Greyjoy from the water after the fleet he was in was destroyed by his uncle Euron Greyjoy.

And it seems that Cowell is due for a bit more screen time in the heavyweight HBO series.

Game of Thrones sleuths unearthed some leaked casting notes for Cowell's character which read: "A tough-looking bruiser with the attack skills of a pit bull, and the actor needs to be great at fighting. He has a ‘considerable’ amount of dialogue as well. It’s described as an ‘excellent part for a top-end actor.”

Of course Cowell isn't the first Aussie actor to make an appearance in the television goliath, with Noah Taylor playing the role of Locke, and is responsible for lopping off old mate Jaime Lannister's hand.

And you wouldn't read about it, but Taylor was also in an episode of Water Rats!

We can only assume Steve Bisley and Colin Friels are absolute locks from making the move from Water Rats to Game of Thrones next.
