Arguably Hollywood's two biggest male box office stars, Leonardo Dicaprio and Brad Pitt are set together in a feature-length film for the first time.

The two have been brought together by Quentin Tarantino to star in his ninth film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The controversial film is set in LA in the 1968, and centres around the Manson Family murders, namely that of Hollywood actress Sharon Tate.

DiCaprio is set to star as  Rick Dalton, a former star of a Western TV series, with Pitt his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth.

Aussie Margot Robbie is rumoured to be playing the part of Tate.

This is the first time the two Hollywood heavy hitters have featured together in a full length film.

“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old,” Tarantino said in a press release.

“I’m very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”

DiCaprio (Django Unchained) and Pitt (Inglorious Basterds) will star in the second Tarantino film.
