Some Nutcase Watched LOTR: The Return of the King 361 Times on Netflix This Year

A little excessive.

Netflix has released its year-end consumption data and there are some ridiculous stats in there.

There's no doubting the majority of us have found ourselves in Netflix binge at some point, in fact that data released from Netflix suggests 8.4 million of us enjoyed a good old binge this year alone.

But those numbers have got nothing on this stat.

One Netflix member in Canada watched the final instalment of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series, The Return of the King, a whopping 361 times in 2017 alone.

For those playing at home, that movie has a running time of three hours and 21 minutes - not exactly a quick, easy watch by any means.

Today is the 346th day of the year; that means that old mate has clocked up a viewing of The Return of the King more than once per day on average.

It's absolutely unfathomable.

This data raises so many questions: Do they just put it on and leave it on in the background? Has Peter Jackson moved to Canada and wants to repeatedly watch his best work? Have they deliberately trolled Netflix to make their end-of-year data?

Either way, long live Aragorn II, the son of Arathorn II and Gilraen, the High King of Gondor and Arnor.
