The Simpsons have found a new free-to-air home on Australian TV.

Following CBS's takeover of Channel 10 last year, the famous cartoon series, along with all other Fox Studios programs, were cut from the network.

But they have found a new home at Channel 7, with the network securing the rights to broadcast hit Fox programs.

At this stage Seven has only confirmed they will broadcast The Simpsons and M*A*S*H from Fox's back catalogue, but it is thought that a lot more will be headed our way, including Modern Family.

"Seven has no appetite for output agreements and prefers to look for programming gaps in the marketplace and the smart acquisitions to fill them," Seven's Director of network programming Angus Ross said.

There is no current start date for The Simpsons on Seven, nor an announcement on which station they will chose to broadcast it on.
