Rumours have been swirling for sometime that Hollywood actor and WWE legend Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson would seriously consider running for the US Presidency, and those rumours took a surprising twist over the weekend.

A campaign committee titled "Run the Rock 2020" was filed on behalf of the Fast & Furious actor with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Sunday, meaning the official groundwork is laid should he choose to run.

The paperwork was lodged by a man unknown to The Rock, West Virginian Kenton Tilford, who is clearly a fan of the Sexiest Man Alive from 2016.

If The Rock does chose to run in the 2022 presidential election campaign, he already has a catchy slogan attributed to him thanks to Tilford: 'More poise, less noise".

Johnson, not aligned to any political party, previously hinted his at his interest in politics in May.

"I think that it’s a real possibility," The Rock native told GQ.

"A year ago, it started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, 'Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful'."

Don't quote us on this, but if successful, The Rock would be the first sitting president to star in a Fast & Furious movie.
