The Nun

YouTube has pulled a six-second ad after complaints that it was too bloody scary began flooding social media.

The clip, a jump scare promoting The Conjuring spin-off The Nun, was popping up as a pre- and mid-roll ad on videos ranging from cooking how-tos to make-up tutorials, traumatising pretty much everyone who happened across it.

HEADS UP: If you don't want to spoil the storyline, the clip is at the bottom. Scroll down and watch it first.

It's a fairly simple premise: All of a sudden, you're seeing a black screen with what looks like the volume of your computer being turned down.

Then - surprise - it cuts to a close-up of the Nun herself, screaming exactly like you would imagine a member of a holy order possessed by a demon to scream.

Even PornHub are getting involved.

Post

Eventually, all of the heated tweets prompted YouTube to step in, saying that the clip "violates our shocking content policy" and that they had removed it as an ad.

Because it's 2018, someone went right ahead and re-uploaded it to YouTube as a separate video, so you can check it out below.
