Brutal action scenes, Banging soundtrack

TRIPLE M REVIEW: Atomic Blonde is the perfect vehicle for Charlize Theron to flex her muscle as a bonafide action star.

The movie is set in East Berlin in 1989 with only a few more days to go until the Berlin Wall is torn down.

Theron stars as MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton, who kicks some serious ass as she attempts to unravel the deceit and double-dealing in the city’s underground.

Admiringly, the film has little respect for the facts surrounding the historical backdrop but that doesn’t matter in the slightest.

The fight scenes are absolutely breathtaking in their brutality - with one particular sequence lasting upwards of 5-minutes without any obvious cut. You’ll get your money’s worth in that scene alone! (Keep an eye out for the staircase)

The film is fuelled by a ripping soundtrack - think 80s David Bowie - with the tunes unleashed when you least expect it.

Atomic Blonde open in Australia on August 3
