It’s quite a common trend these days for people to legally have their first/last named changed.

In fact according to a report, over 85,000 people changed their last name in the U.K alone in 2016.

More than twice as many as a decade ago.

However, one man has decided to take this a whole other level.

Emile Ratelband, a Dutch man, has started a legal battle to change not his name BUT his age from 69 to 49-years-young.

The greatest part of this story is his reasoning behind the age change.

"When I'm 69, I am limited. If I'm 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work," he said.

"When I'm on Tinder and it says I'm 69, I don't get an answer.

“When I'm 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position."

A local court will rule on the case before the end of the year.
