A bloke who called Scott Morrison a “f**king muppet” at Bathurst has been convicted and fined for “behaving in an offensive manner”.

Allan Maccaul, 26, will have to cough up $500 for giving the prime minister a piece of his mind at Mount Panorama on October 7 this year.

Prime Minister Morrison was chatting to members of the public when Maccaul approached and said “F**k you, you’re a f**king muppet”.

Maccaul was arrested by police officers attached to Protections Operations Unit who were there with the PM, and police who were on duty at the event were alsso called.

Maccaul’s backpack was searched, with cops finding cannabis and LSD.

"It's just a bit of weed,” Maccaul told cops, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

It’s just enough for a joint, I was going to smoke it while I watched the race."

Maccaul was also convicted of two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and fined $400 for each charge.
