A dog in Auckland has been breaking out of his owner’s home and crapping on neighbours’ pillows.

The dog — named Jack, and appropriately a bichon frise shih-tzu cross — has been doing the secret shitting for two years, but his owner only just owned up to the behaviour on the local community Facebook page.

Jack’s MO was sneaking out through a hole in the fence and squeezing through neighbours’ cat doors to leave little pooh presents on pillows around the neighbourhood.

“Apparently he has been been caught by more than one of our neighbors sneaking in their cat door and doing number twos on peoples bedroom pillows,” Jack’s owner, Rick Didham wrote to the Beach Haven and Birkdale Community Facebook group.

“We don’t know why he is doing this, but if you see him please be nice to him as if you’re mean he comes back and does it again.

Didham said he’ll cover the loss of any pillows soiled by the rogue pup.

“If there has been an incident in your bedroom please pm me and we’ll look into getting your pillow case replaced if we can,” he said.
