The dynamic between the Principal Skinner and Superintendent Chalmers has always been a highlight of the Simpsons, with Skinner’s bumbling attempts to curry favour with a very unimpressed Chalmers always getting a laugh.

One of the most famous scenes involving the two is the famous 'Steamed Hams' vignette from the 1996 episode 22 Short Films About Springfield, involving Skinner ruining a roast, replacing it with Krustyburgers and burning down his kitchen in the process.

Today, the man who wrote the scene, Bill Oakley, posted the first draft of it in a Twitter thread.

Remarkably it’s almost completely the same, with almost the exact same beats and only a couple of edits for tightening.
