What a bloody effort this is!

A bloke from the middle of Queensland is moments away from completing the world's longest lawn bowls game ever recorded.

The only problem is - the record he thought he was 'breaking' doesn't actually exist.

However, Shayne Barwick already set himself the target of 73 hours and is hellbent on seeing it done.

”I could have done 25 hours and it would have been a record,” Barwick told the ABC on Saturday.

“I went and opened my mouth, and now I’ve got to stick to it.”

Battling through heavy rain and a very sore back, we imagine, the manager at the Cloncurry Bowls Club in rural QLD is about to make an astounding piece of history.

The record is aimed at raising money to pay for the club's disability ramp, so donate here for the good cause.

Get around him!
