So I Married An Axe Murderer

You've heard about skeletons in the closet but what about skeletons in the sweet potatoes?

A bloke discovered he's been living out the plot of the hit 1993 Mike Myers movie So I Married An Axe Murderer when he found a skull in his veggie patch.

Understandably shocked, the poor guy ran over to share the unbelievable news with his 60-year-old wife who replied: "Don't worry. It's my first husband."

Oh, sweet! Why didn't you say?

The stone-cold OAP then told him to: "Bury the remains again, forget about it and we won't tell the police" before confessing to taking out her previous partner, who was 52 at the time.

She reckons he came home drunk one night and started beating her up, at which point she hit him with an axe and then used it to chop him up into little pieces.

The woman, who lives in a small village in Luzion in Siberia, then buried the body parts in the potato patch and told anyone who asked that her husband just hadn't come home from work one day.

Unsurprisingly, husband number two point blank ignored his wife's demands to become an accessory to her crime and told the police, who found more bones in a search of the potato patch.

The woman has since been placed under house arrest and is facing a charge of wilful killing, which could see her locked up for 10 years.

Her husband, on the other hand, has had quite the lucky escape; as one resident told reporters: "By planting potatoes, this man may have saved his own life."
