A driver in the US has been pulled over by the cops for using a piece of a used pizza box as a number plate.

The Hopkinton Police Department took to Facebook to warn drivers against using illegal number plates after they pulled over a bloke in Hopkinton, Massachusetts who had written his number plate on a piece of a used pizza box.

Post

"Here's a little advice to those aspiring to make their own license plates...," the Facebook post read.

"1. Don't.

"2. But if you do, make sure not to use cardboard from a pizza box and magic markers.

"Charges for this creative operator include operating an uninsured and unregistered vehicle and attaching "fake home made" plates."

The driver is facing charges of driving and unregistered vehicle and attaching fake number plates.

Wonder what was the giveaway, the cardboard or the numbers and letters written in permanent marker?
