A gambler from the USA has learned the hard way, what technically is the act of “gambling” on a slot machine.

Turns out that the act of Jan Flato allowing his friend Marina Navarro to push the button “…for good luck” meant that when the inevitable happened… that is, the spinner came in on the slot machine and suddenly they were $A133,000 up, it was Marina, NOT Jan, who was the beneficiary.

According to reports, it was Flato who thought he had won the money, but security footage clearly showed that it was Navarro who pressed the button on the machine, therefore, technically, she was the winner.

Reportedly, Navarro acted instantly, asking armed security to watch him as she walked away with her big payout.

The furious Flato offered up this tip to fellow gaming machine players.

Don’t ever let them touch the button, don’t even tell them to touch anything for luck, because they can do what Marina did to me.

- Jan Flato

Now that’s a case of bad luck!
