FIVE YEARS!

Sometimes life has a way of slapping you in the face.

Take British boat enthusiast Richard Oglivy for example, who bought a run down World War II boat ten years ago, with aspirations to refurbish it, make it seaworthy and sail to his heart's content.

After letting the boat sit idle-by for five years, Richard spent an exorbitant amount of cash and the next five years returning the boat to its former glory.

Finally, after all that hard work, Richard, along with his two sons were ready to give the refurbished its first sea voyage - then life slapped old mate Richard right in the face.

Within minutes of casting the boat out to sea the boat sank, as Richard watched as all his hard work and money disappear into the water.

"Obviously I would have liked to see the boat remain on the surface. A boat is much better when it floats," Richard said.

Richard wasn't too upset though, claiming that the real joy was finally seeing the boat restored to its former glory before it sank.

"Iit was a life-affirming experience finally getting her in the water," he said.

"Seeing the boat come out again was incredible and when we finally get it sailing in a couple of months we will be able to have a few beers, look back and laugh."
