Last month we introduced you to Dutchman Emile Ratelband.

The 69-year-old made headlines in his home country for lodging a case with the courts to legally change his age.

Mr. Ratelband wanted the courts to change his age to 49-yers-old, mostly so he could match more women on Tinder.

Well, this past week the matter was heard in court but it wasn’t a successful hearing for the 69-year-old.

The local Dutch court rejected Mr. Ratelband’s case.

“Mr. Ratelband is at liberty to feel 20 years younger than his real age and to act accordingly, but amending his date of birth would cause 20 years of records to vanish from the register of births, deaths, marriages and registered partnerships,” the courts said in a statement.

“This would have a variety of undesirable legal and societal implications.”

Mr. Ratelband is planning to appeal the decision.
