A bizarre rant from Aussie politician Bob Katter about same sex marriage and crocodile attacks is going viral.

The video was played on ABC’s Insiders program yesterday and started attracting attention when they tweeted it.

Watch the bizarre rant here:

Katter starts off discussing the recent same sex marriage plebiscite result — he was a staunch advocate for the no campaign — saying that he didn’t really care what people got up to behind closed doors.

“People are entitled to their sexual proclivities, I mean, let there be a thousand blossoms bloom as far as I’m concerned,” he said.

About here is where it gets weird, with Katter’s genial and jovial demeanour suddenly dropping away.

His face turns grey and thunderous before he starts ranting about crocodiles.

“But I ain’t spending any time on it (marriage equality) because in the meantime, every three months, a person is torn to pieces by a crocodile in North Queensland!”

The Insiders panelists can’t help themselves and go into tears of laughter before closing the show.

“So we should put the whole country on hold until we sort out that particular point, ok,” host Barrie Cassidy says.
