Breaking Bad's final season has been ranked as the greatest season of television ever, according to critics.

Business Insider compiled a list of the best-rating TV seasons ever, according to Metacritic scores compiled by numerous reviewers and tie-broken by user ratings.

Season 5 of Breaking Bad comes out on top with an almost perfect Metacritic score of 99/100 and a user score of 9.7/10.

Season 4 also came in highly, finishing in 15th place.

Next up was season 4 of Rectify and season 1 of Murder One, finishing second and third respectively with Metacritic scores of 99/100.

The Wire, The Larry Sanders Show and the UK version of The Office all had two seasons each appear in the top 10, while The Sopranos had three seasons feature between 11 and 20.
