One eager Connor McGregor fan was so confident the Irishman would get the win yesterday that he went early and got a tattoo to mark the occasion.

The tatt - reading '49-1' next to an Irish flag - is in reference to McGregor's opponent, Floyd Mayweather's fighting career, with the champ heading into yesterday's fight with a 49-0 professional record.

Unfortunately for this particular fight fan, Mayweather got the job done over McGregor in fairly convincingly fashion, winning by TKO in the tenth round to give himself a professional record of 50-0 and rendering this punter's tattoo pointless.

Ouch.
