The Oasis hit ‘Wonderwall’ is a staple for amateur guitarists around the world.

If you’ve ever been camping, slept in a hostel, or basically been anywhere near a busker in your life, chances are you’ve heard someone belting out one of the most iconic songs ever written.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s always performed at an acceptable level - as one busker in the Danish city of Aalborg discovered.

The story goes that old mate was asked to move on by Danish police, not because he was harassing passers-by, but because his rendition of Wonderwall was so tremendously shit, he was asked to pack up and ship off.

According to a translated Nordjyllands police report, the busker was “loud, bad and noisy,” and that “he did not sound like Liam Gallagher.”

A patrol officer approached the busker, stopping him mid-song, before he was “sent home to practice.”

The police report then added one last jibe for our unsuccessful busker, claiming: “Just because you can play ‘Wonderwall’ does not mean you should.”

Let this be a lesson to anyone thinking about travelling to Europe and busking, tighten up your Wonderwall rendition or you’ll be sent packing.

Btw, here’s a ripper version of the song performed by a busker:
