Spare a thought for the city of Detroit, not only has their NFL team not won a championship in the last 60 years, they can't even demo their old venue without failing epically.

The Silverdome was set for demolition over the weekend.

Demo crews had placed explosive charges at key structural points throughout the old stadium  with the blast supposed to level the stadium into a pile of rubble and be cleared by rubbish crews.

But that didn't happen.

Instead the charges blew but the stadium stood strong in its place.

No one is quite sure, with the crew in charge of the demolition the blasts were intended to break the supporting beams and cause the stadium to come crashing down...but it didn't, much to these TV pundits delight.

According to the crew, the beams were cut, meaning the stadium will collapse at some stage, they're just not sure when that will be...

The stadium was built in the early 1970s and hosted the Detroit Lions from 1975 until 2002.
