Fans of the fourth most popular folk duo in New Zealand rejoice — Flight of the Conchords might be back for an hour-long special this year.

The band inspired a TV show that ran for two seasons on HBO, featuring the foibles of the duo as they tried to become famous and get by in New York.

One of the guitar-based digi-bongo acapella rap-funk-comedy folk duo, Jemaine Clement, said that he and partner Bret McKenzie intend to shoot something this year.

"We're going to film a little something this year,” Clement told Entertainment Tonight.

"We're going to shoot an hour thing.”

Pop culture site The AV Club spoke to HBO, who didn’t confirm or deny anything.

“The deals are not fully in place,” HBO said.

“We’ll hopefully have news soon and will be back in touch.”
