One of last year's greatest sporting stories was the extraordinary run of Iceland in the Euro 2016 tournament.

To the world's disbelief, the underdogs managed to defeat England 2-1 in the last 16 - and now it has become clear how the country celebrated.

Asgeir Petur Thorvaldsson, a doctor in Reykjavik, tweeted that his maternity ward had administered more pain relief over the weekend than any other.

Last weekend coincidentally lines up exactly 9 months since the match.

Although Iceland lost their subsequent quarter-final to France, their amazing performance is set to live on in more ways than one.
