If you’ve been on Facebook at all in the last two years, you would have surely been across The Betoota Advocate.
They’re the satirical country town paper that’s taken off with their tales of real Aussie life — pre-empting the #FakeNews trend.
Today they managed their biggest coup yet, hooking up a sit down interview with sitting Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in Woolloomooloo over schooners of Betoota Bitter.
They engaged in some light banter, with Turnbull praising the Betoota boys for “picking up things the mainstream media completely overlook” like his attendance at the Gulgong Races.
They then went on to chat about the media, pubs in the area, the Communist Manifesto and the beef export industry.
