Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, is releasing his first new TV show in 20 years.

Groening is behind the adult animated comedy fantasy series Disenchantment, set to premiere on Netflix on August 17.

It takes place in the world of Dreamland and the adventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her elf companion Elfo and a personal demon called Luci.

Netflix has ordered it for 20 episodes so far.

It contains the likes of Billy West (Fry), John DiMaggio (Bender), Maurice LaMarche (Kif), Tress MacNeille (Agnes Skinner) and David Herman (Scruffy) who've all collaborated with Groening in the past.

Groening and Josh Weinstein, who was a producer on The Simpsons in the 1990s as well as Futurama, will serve as executive producers of the new show.
