NBC is reportedly readying up for a revival of The Office.

TVLine has reported the network is looking to relaunch the series next year, for the 2018/19 TV season.

"The revival would once again be set at Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton, PA., branch, and feature a mix of new and old cast members," the report says.

It suggests Steve Carell, who stars as Michael Scott, would not make his return to the show, but another leading stars would come back.

A search for a new regional manager to replace him is said to be underway.

Variety also confirmed the news, saying the network is in "early talks" to revive the hit show, with NBC declining to comment on the news.

Network president Bob Greenblatt has previously said he'd be keen to bring it back if there was interest.

"We often talk about The Office," he told Deadline.

"I’ve talked to (showrunner) Greg (Daniels) four times over the past few years. It’s always, ‘Maybe someday, but not now’.

"There is certainly an open invitation, but we don’t have anything happening right now. If he wants to do it, I would do it."
