Well it’s only taken an extra three years (according to Back To The Future II), but we could possibly have some of the first flying vehicles in operation.

Dubai Police are trialing and training with flying motorbikes, with the hope to officially have them in use by 2020.

A Russian-owned California-based company called Hoversurf, have delivered the first few Electric Vertical Take-Off & Landing (EVTOL) bikes adding to the Ferrari and Lamborghini patrol cars currently used by the force.

Post

Each bike will cost just under $210, 000 (AUD).

The bikes would be used to help first responder units reach areas that would otherwise be difficult.

Hoversurf are also developing a number of other EVTOL vehicles, including the very first "drone taxi.”

The company’s vision for the taxi claims it will be able to fly a maximum distance of 300km at 250km/h for just over an hour.
