If you've ever wondered what the inside of Russell Crowe's house looks like, come have a sit down. It's amazing.

Sotheby's Australia have announced that they'll be auctioning off a selection of major works from the actor's private collection on April 7 this year.

The auction house has pointed out that the date is of particular significance as it's both the Crowe's birthday and his wedding anniversary - which is slightly awkward, since the collection is titled "The Art of Divorce".

"The sale represents the dispersal of a highly personal collection that was assembled by Crowe over many years, including those shared with his former wife, Danielle Spencer," Sotheby's explains.

"The Russell Crowe Collection comprises important paintings by some of Australia's most significant historic, modern and contemporary artists, furniture, movie memorabilia, musical instruments, watches and sporting memorabilia."

While we would thoroughly, thoroughly recommend that you spend 20 minutes having a look through the entire collection - it's nuts - here are some particular highlights:

- Shane Warne's Australia Test jersey ($1,000 - $2,000)

- Three original scoreboard numbers from the Sydney Cricket Ground ($500 - $1000)

- W.A.S. "Bert" Oldfield's "Baggy Green" Test cricket cap from the 1932-1933 "Bodyline" series ($40,000 - $60,000)

- Signed South Sydney Rabbitohs jersey ($1,000 - $2,000)

- 2008 Custom Rabbitohs Chopper motorcycle ($35,000 - $45,000)

- A "fully functioning replica Roman chariot from the film Gladiator" ($5,000 - $10,000) (Seriously)

Sotheby's Australia

- The Doc Martens Crowe wore as Hando in Romper Stomper ($10,000 - $15,000)

- Crowe's Gladiator armour ($20,000 - $30,000)

- A life-size prop horse from the same film, "realistically rendered in rubberised material with textured chestnut faux fur and mane, supported on a custom designed steel stand" ($2,000 - $4,000)

- A Gibson L4ces electric guitar ($3,500 - $5,500)

Like we said, it's an absolute cracker of a collection; check out the whole lot here.
