You've got to lug your books around somehow, right?

17-year-old English kid Jacob Ford dodged a ban on bags by using a microwave - among other things - to cart his books around.

The school, Spalding Grammar, enforced a policy banning bags from classrooms after a year 7 student was accidentally hit by a bag, so Ford carried out a silent protest.

Instead he used various items to carry stuff around, such as a wicker basket, a saucepan, sandwich bags, part of a lawnmower and, finally, a damn microwave.

"Bags were never allowed in Years 7 to 11, but they were for sixth form students," he told Spalding Today.

"This year, we had an assembly at the start of term where we were told that there was no change on the bags rule.

"Then two weeks later, we had another assembly where we were told that all bags were banned because of health and safety reasons after a Year 7 student had been accidentally hit by a bag."

Ford wrote a 3300-word essay to the school to outline the fallacies of the decision, while a petition was also launched, gaining 460 signatures before it was taken down.

He was eventually suspended for two days after refusing to hand over his mobile phone to staff, which he was using to inform his family of his treatment during the protest.

Yeah, this kid's going places.
