A Sydney Health food store has come under fire for selling gluten, dairy, soy and egg free 'ANZAC cookies’.

Social media users took to the company's social media page to accuse the company of using the word 'ANZAC' inappropriately.

“That's a bloody outrage it is! I want to take this all the way to the Prime Minister!,” One reddit user wrote.

“Almond, coconut and cauliflower? Pig's arse” another wrote.

The company responsible for the biscuits - Ella's Wisdom - have apologised for using the word Anzac.

“We had no idea about the fact that was a protected term. When we started selling our cookies at the markets people started referring to them as Anzac cookies so that's how we called them, we did not mean any disrespect to the country we love and we simply wanted people with different dietary requirements to enjoy some Anzac like cookies as well,” the company worth in a statement.

“We sincerely apologise for any hurt feelings this might have caused.”
