Oktoberfest is about to get underway and just because we're a few thousand miles away from Berlin, doesn't mean we don't get to enjoy the world's best beer festival.
Here in Australia, Oktoberfest will be officially launched with a huge Street Party on Saturday 16 September by Oktoberfest On Tap at Munich Brauhaus at The Rocks, Sydney; South Wharf, Melbourne; and Bavarian Bier Cafe, Eagle Street Pier, Brisbane.

AUSTRALIA'S FIRST OKTOBERFEST PARADE!
Saturday 16 September, 12pm - 12:30pm
Just as they do in Bavaria, Oktoberfest season gets kicked off with an official Oktoberfest Parade! You can be a part of history as in Australia's first inaugural Oktoberfest parade to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Expect plenty of colour, tradition, fun and music!
Festivities then continue through Oktoberfest at Bavarian Bier Cafe, The Bavarian, and Munich Brauhaus across the country, with classic dishes such as pork knuckle and schnitzel, plus huge steins of German biers, and schnapps.
That will continue right up to the big Closing Parties - being hosted by Triple M's own Merrick Watts in Sydney, Brendan Fevola in Melbourne, and Marto in Brisbane!
Each closing event will include a one hour private party with free bier and Oktoberfest bites as well as live entertainment.
You can complete an Oktoberfest challenge to be an "Oktober Boss" during the six weeks of the festival by drinking four 1-litre steins, a schnapps, and eating a schnitzel, pork knuckle and pretzel to get an official t-shirt, 2 tickets to the huge closing party and collectors edition lederhosen or dirndl stein.
