At the annual E3 gaming convention in the USA, Microsoft finally revealed more details about their brand new console, which until now carried the code name "Project Scorpio".

The XBOX One X, as it will be known, is smaller, sleeker, yet a sh*tload more powerful than the current XBOX on the market, and has certainly raised the stakes in Microsoft's battle with Sony for valuable market share in the gaming field.

Microsoft are calling it the most powerful console ever made, boasting six teraflops of computing power. We have no idea what that means, but it sounds impressive. (The PS4 Pro apparently only has 4.2 measly teraflops).

For most gamers though, it comes down to a few key questions:

  1. How big's the hard drive? 1TB (probably a little on the small side)
  2. Graphics? It's hoping to deliver native 4K graphics at 60 FPS
  3. Backwards Capability? It will play all XBOX 360 backwards compatible games and all XBOX One games
  4. Release Date? November 7, 2017
  5. Price? It's slated for a $500 (USD) price tag

The jury's out as to whether it will be a game changer... pun intended... but it's a case of so far so good for gamers in the next development of home gaming.
