No matter which airline you fly, you'll notice that they all tend to have one thing in common: they almost always have blue seats. 

Perhaps you've never wondered why this could be or maybe you haven't even noticed that they're generally always blue until now... but we bet you're curious now, right? 

Despite popular belief, plane chairs aren't a dark blue to hide the dirt and grime that passengers leave behind (although, it probably helps), it's actually to trigger your body's calming chemicals, reports The Sun

People tend to associate the colour blue with the ocean and clear skies, which according to Colour Psychology experts are both "linked to inner serenity, calm and clarity."

Yep, it's to help calm you down before you take off tens of thousands of feet into the sky... truth be told the drinks cart is probably more calming
