The team behind the hugely successful real-life crime podcast 'Serial' have announced they are releasing a brand new series called 'S-Town' on March 28 and there are several twists.

For a start, they are releasing all seven episodes at once, so there will be no waiting around and talking about what is going to happen to friends as the tension builds over the weeks ahead.

The familiar voice of Sarah Koenig, who presented Serial - the story of Adnan Syed convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend in Baltimore in 1999 - will be replaced with Brian Reed.

S-Town will however still be the telling of a real-life murder cold case investigation with interviews, analysis, and reporting of the facts that may (or may not) have been overlooked by the authorities.

The preview at stownpodcast.org says:

"John despises his Alabama town and decides to do something about it. He asks a reporter to investigate the son of a wealthy family who's allegedly been bragging that he got away with murder. But then someone else ends up dead, sparking a nasty feud, a hunt for hidden treasure, and an unearthing of the mysteries of one man's life."

Sarah Koenig describes S-Town as: "It's weird. It's beautiful. It's got plot twists that go in directions I never saw coming."

Clear your calendars for March 28.
