They’re only a few days in, but the PyeongChang Winter Olympics have already been interesting for a little peek into the culture of North Korea.
The famously isolationist nation is there as part of a unity banner with South Korea, with leader Kim Jong-Un’s sister Kim Yo Jong making headlines with her public appearances in the South and at the events at the games.
But the most striking thing the North Koreans have brought to the games so far has been their cheer squad that appeared at the speed skating.
They act like something between a soccer active support group and tightly choreographed singing and dancing troupe, and it’s quite unlike anything western sports fans are used to:
