Today Show

The issue with live TV sometimes is that it is (funnily) live.

With the option to vet and edit content before viewers see or hear it leaves you wide open for a stitch up - as Channel Nine's the Today Show found out this morning.

Their reporter Natalia Cooper was hanging around Parramatta handing out $50 notes to pedestrians to top up their Opal Card, when she approached a tradie sitting on bench.

“Sir, would you like $50 to top up your Opal card?" Cooper asked.

Cooper then started asking how the blokes long weekend was, which is when it all came spiralling down...

"It was alright," he said.

“What did you get up to?” Cooper responded.

To which old mate replied: “Punched a few cones."

“Oh wow OK, we’ll just leave you there, all right,” Cooper said as she moved away from the tradie quicker than Usain Bolt's 100m final time at the Rio Olympics.

How good is live TV.
