Bunnings onion has never been more newsworthy than this week.

The hardware chain had to change the way they put onion on their snags this week after someone slipped and fell on some.

In response, Bunnings issued a directive that onion has to go under the sausage in cook ups at their stores.

“Safety is always our number one priority and we recently introduced a suggestion that onion be placed underneath sausages to help prevent the onion from falling out and creating a slipping hazard,” Bunnings chief operating officer Debbie Poole said this week.

In response, a group of people are going to go to Bunnings to throw onion on the ground then slip.

The Facebook event — Throwing your onion on the ground at Bunnings and then slipping — popped up in the last day or so, with the date set for December 15.

The details on the event make the point of it clear: “Protest this disgrace of REORDERING the snags at Bunnings by throwing your onion on the ground and slipping on it”.

Please note: Triple M does not condone creating health and safety hazards by throwing foodstuffs on the ground at popular retail outlets.
