Be it a nightclub, the footy or a music festival, we all have tried, or know someone who has tried sneaking alcohol into a venue to try and get one up the organisers over exorbitant grog prices.

One woman in the UK tried to slip a bottle of vodka past security at Southwell Racecourse in Nottinghamshire via a home made salami baguette.

The unnamed woman seemingly hollowed out her baguette, placed a 500ml bottle of straight vodka inside, and then decorated the baguette with salami and tomato to try and make it look legit.

Unfortunately she was stopped by security who were perplexed as to why the woman would be brining a giant baguette along to a race day.

'We had 9,000 people here that day and as usual we allow people to bring their own picnics but no alcohol," Will Bowler, marketing assistant, at Southwell Racecourse told The Daily Mail.

'We were carrying out the usual checks and then came across this particular lady who had dug out a hole in her baguette and stuffed the vodka inside.

It was pretty good of security to spot it really because it was quite an innovative idea - probably the best we have ever seen.

'It was only when they noticed the weight of it that the alarm bells started to ring.

'The lady in question was a little red-faced at the time but you have to give her an A for effort.

While only alcohol purchased on the premises is allowed to be consumed, Southwell Racecourse did reportedly let the woman collect her bottle of vodka at the end of the day.
