Wanna Race For A Formula 1 Team?

There's A (Cool) Catch...

It's the dream job if you're mad about your motorsport.

Formula 1 team McLaren are on the hunt for a new driver... for their simulator.

To find them, they've launched a new eSports competition called the 'World's Fastest Gamer.'

It'll pit the best gamers in the world across multiple racing platforms as they battle each other until a champion is crowned.

That champion will earn themselves a one-year contract with McLaren.

They'll work with engineers at the UK factory and at race tracks all over the world to develop and improve the real world Formula 1 cars raced by Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne.

“The contest isn’t limited to one platform or one game," said McLaren's boss Zak Brown.

"We’re very keen not to restrict access or entry for people, but rather welcome the worldwide gaming community, whether that’s on mobile or on high-end simulator platforms."

“And the winner will genuinely be a key part of our team at McLaren."

"This is for real: we absolutely require additional support across our two simulator platforms, so the competition and the selection process will be rigorous, ruthless and compelling to watch.”

That competition can be checked out on a dedicated YouTube channel and McLaren's social media pages.

The six finalists will be picked by experts in gaming and Formula 1 from qualifying events online later this year.

All the details to enter can be found here.
