Beers In Singapore

Singapore is a stylish, cool, cosmopolitan mega-city with an awesome nightlife scene.

Pubs, clubs, live music spots and open air bars, they’ve got the lot.

Here are five great ones to get you started (before you end up at the 'Four Floors' anyway)

The Rooftop at Potato Head Folk, 36 Keong Saik Rd, Singapore

The Zombie #36 rum cocktail here is so potent that you’re not allowed to order more than three of them. That’s one reason to make this a place that must be checked out. Another is the incredible old Singaporean-Chinese heritage shop-house style of the building. From the people behind the famous Potato Head in Bali, the burger place on the first two floors is excellent, and the rooftop bar, up a spiral staircase, opens on the warm Singaporean night with vintage furniture but no pretention.

Ce La Vi, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

You want views? Here’s your place. Spectacular panorama of the ‘Little Red Dot’ and all her skyscrapers and sprawling suburbs thanks to being one of the highest bars in the world. Recently revealed in DJMag’s Top 100 Clubs In The World 2016, the décor, music and drinks are right up there. Literally.

LeVeL33, Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, Singapore

One for proper beer nuffies. They proudly claim to be the world’s highest urban craft brewery. They even make their own in-house blonde lager tomato ketchup. What more do you need to know? Great views across the Bay make this a good choice for a chilled out Sunday as the roasts are fantastic.

Lantern, The Fullerton Bay Hotel, Singapore

Expensive, but then this is Singapore and nothing’s cheap, but you can do yourself a favour by visiting on a Tuesday when gin and vodka cocktails are “just” SG$16 a hit. Very relaxing vibe thanks to the lantern theme and Latin house band. Hotel guests only for the 25m pool, but worth a try if you’ve got your bathers handy. And as good a view of the bay as you’ll find.

1-Altitude, One Raffles Place, Singapore

Ever wanted to drink Pink Floyd? You can at 1-Altitude, just the 282-metres above sea level. We’ve saved the best ‘til last on this list. Three-levels of brilliant rooftop bar with 360-degree views across Singapore. The glass walls on the top one mean this is not a place for anyone bad with heights, but if that’s the case what are you doing up this high in the first place? Outstanding drinks menu including the aforementioned Pink Floyd vodka cocktail.

Singapore is on special with Flight Centre. Fly from Melbourne return from just $318! Check details here.
