So, as part of Local Sports Stars, a search for the next generation of Australian sporting talent (details below and enter here), we’ve picked out the most legendary clubs going to give them a shout out as the type of clubs who deserve their awards and recognition as Local Legends. Keep up the great work!

Le Ray Gymnastics at Abbotsleigh

No less than three level 10 girls from LRG at Abbotsleigh made it to nationals as a result of their outstanding performance at the NSW Senior State Championships. The awards and accolades are coming in thick and fast for the club, surely one of the country’s very best centres for Rhythmic Gymnastic excellence.

Parramatta Girls Touch Football Club

Nominated in the Junior Sports Star Team category of the NSW Clubs awards for the sheer determination, drive, and commitment displayed by their young girls in securing back-to-back state championships. An inspiring bunch set to go far in their sport.

Knox Grammar School Swim Team

The Associated Schools of NSW Championships was a procession for Knox Grammar School, who bagged a stunning 43 out of 73 races, smashing 12 records on their way. It was a similar story in the same event in 2017, for what must surely be one of Australia’s most high achieving sports clubs of any discipline.

Cumberland Nepean Softball Association Under-11s

The girls went undefeated through the NSW state championships over the Easter long weekend to secure a historic win for their club. They couldn’t have responded better to playing under the pressure of playing in front of a huge, loud crowd on the Olympic Diamond at Blacktown International Sportspark. A bright future awaits!
