If you haven't made it to the shops yet, don't. Just don't. It's like a war zone out there.

Unfortunately even express delivery can't save you anymore, with pretty much every online shop declaring that any more orders will arrive after Christmas Day.

So you know what that means, don't you? Vouchers.

Here are five not-shit ideas for presents that you can have paid for and printed out in less time than it would have taken you to find an empty car park.

1. Overnight Country Escape

When it comes to treating anyone - whether it's your other half, your in-laws or your siblings - to a weekend away, the key is to find the fanciest place you can afford. Red Balloon have more options than you can swing a cat at, but our money's on this country escape for two, with dinner and brekkie thrown in for good measure.

2. Beer Brewing Class

If you're stuck on what to get your mates, may we suggest a beer brewing class? If there aren't any scheduled, grab a couple of gift vouchers to be redeemed on one instead. The Hop + Grain Brew Store run fairly regular "Brewers Basics" to get your started.

3. Stand-Up Paddle Experience

It's an unusual gift but you'll come off looking like an absolute legend. Plus, literally everything is organised for you. This Air BnB experience through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park promises spectacular views, a short bush walk and a snack. You might even squeeze in a quick swim.

4. Helicopter Ride

You know what they say, you can't buy experience. Pick a state - any state - and book in for a private helicopter flight for two. So romantic/ easy.

5. Whale Watching

Pretty much every company running whale - or dolphin - watching tours promises a free trip if you don't see anything so, worst case scenario, you get a couple of days out on the water. Most include a breakfast or lunch as well. Check out OzWhaleWatching for more information.
