Bowen Australia Day Celebrations
Bowen's community BBQ Lunch starts at 12.15pm at the Merinda Village Hotel, followed by the official ceremony at 1.15pm.
It’ll be a great day for the family!
Hinchinbrook Shire Australia Day Celebrations
Join our official Australia Day Ambassador, Mr Matthew Nagas, recognised for his work in building awareness, recognition and support for Australian South Sea Islanders in the Bundaberg district, in celebrating Australia Day commencing at 9.00am in the Hinchinbrook Shire Hall with an Australiana concert, Awards ceremony and cutting of the Australia Day cake.
Activities conclude approximately 11.00am.

Burdekin Australia Day Awards Evening
The Australia Day Awards Evening will be held at the Burdekin Memorial Hall on Thursday, 25th January 2018 commencing at 7.00pm.
Celebrations will include the presentation of the 2018 Australia Day Awards and Naturalisation Ceremony as well as local entertainment, cutting of the Australia Day Cake and complimentary refreshments provided.
Tickets are $3 and can be purchased from Council’s Customer Service Centre or the Burdekin Theatre website.
Townsville Australia Day Celebrations
Townsville City Council presents a free community event and fun day in celebration of Australia Day. The morning’s schedule of events will include a fun run, free Aussie breakfast, Citizenship Ceremony, State Flag Raising Ceremony with 21-gun salute and Australian Defence Force flypast, and will conclude with the Australia Day Awards Ceremony.
6:00am - Fun Run registrations open
6:45am - Townsville Aussie Day Fun Run start
8:00am - Fun Run presentations followed by free Aussie breakfast, Car display, Free Children's Amusements, Food Court
8:30am - Citizenship ceremony
9:00am - Live Entertainment starts
10:00am - State Flag Raising Ceremony followed by 21-gun salute and flypast
11:00am - Australia Day Awards Ceremony
12:00pm - Event finish

- Be sun smart and slip, slop, slap, seek shade and drink plenty of water
- Sunscreens stations will be available
