Tim Tszyu, the son of Australian boxing legend Kostya Tszyu, will headline one of the biggest sporting events the city has seen when he appears at the new Bendigo Stadium on Saturday, September 8.

The show, promoted by Hosking Promotions, will be the third instalment of “BATTLE ON THE GOLDFIELDS” and is proudly sponsored by the City of Greater Bendigo and Ultra Tune.

With an undefeated record of 10-0, Tim Tszyu is excited to come to the regional city to showcase his talent in front of a full house at the new stadium.

“This will be my first fight in Victoria and I am looking forward to showing the people of Bendigo what I can do on my way to a future world title opportunity”.

“I thank Lynden Hosking from Hosking Promotions for giving me this opportunity as well as the City of Greater Bendigo for getting behind this huge event” said the 23-year-old Tszyu.

Co-headlining the show in another massive coup for the event will be world number 3 Andrew “The Monster” Moloney who will fight former world champion Luis Concepcion in a world title eliminator over ten rounds.

Moloney, who has an imposing 17-0 record, is a 2014 Commonwealth Games Gold medallist and current Commonwealth and WBA Oceania Super Flyweight champion.

“I’m currently ranked in the top 3 of all major sanctioning bodies and can’t wait to get my world title opportunity after this fight” said Moloney.

“My twin brother Jason is fighting for the world Bantamweight title in October and I want to be next” added the 27-year-old from Melbourne.

Supporting the two main events will be Bendigo trio Damien Lock, Scott Tuddenham and Lorrinda Webb.

Lock will fight Joshua Butler over six rounds while Tuddenham will fight Daniel White from Queensland over four rounds.
Webb will be keen to impress in front of her hometown as she becomes the first female professional boxer to come out of the city.

Promoter Lynden Hosking is excited to be bringing this event to his hometown.

“This is a major event on the boxing landscape and I am super proud to be able to bring it to Bendigo” said the former Olympian.

“It really should be taking place in a major city but, with the help and support of the City of Greater Bendigo and Ultra Tune, we have been able to pull it off and have it at the wonderful new Stadium”.

“We can’t wait to see a full house there watching world-class boxing at it’s finest and showcasing our great city. Hopefully, it will be just the beginning of bringing these types of events to Bendigo!”…
