Something big is coming to Gladstone.

Clear your diary for April 8, because the Titans VS Manly Sea Eagles NRL game will be held at Marley Brown Oval in Clinton.

With the Commonwealth Games coming to the Gold Coast, the Titans needed to relocate out of the city, and what better place for them to do it than in Central QLD - the heart of Rugby League!

Gladstone Mayor, Matt Burnett, has also announced a revamp for the precinct.

"Our Marley Brown Oval isn't big enough capacity wise - so we've been negotiating to put a grand stand on the other side... The Titans gave us permission so we'll be putting in a temporary grand stand on the other side."

- Matt Burnett, Gladstone Mayor

The grand stand approvals are still in the works, and rightly so, with the cost soaring to around $48,000.

But what we do know, it's going to sit roughly an extra 1,000 people, with other options in the works including potential corporate boxes.

"This isn't about making a lot of money, just about covering the costs and to ensure everyone can see the game"

It's not every day that a game of this size will be played in the regional town, so plans are underway to make the event very successful.

"We want as many people from Central QLD to enjoy the game but also want to make sure plenty of our locals get to attend too"

Game on, Gladstone!
